ESU#2 in Fremont Nebraska is now accepting applications for a Special Education Supervisor. The Special Education Supervisor is responsible for providing special education support to member school districts and the supervision of ESU staff. This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage staff, support school districts and contribute to the overall success of the Student Services program. This role reports to the Director of Student Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate Student Service related service providers
- Facilitate team professional development
- Provide tailored support and resources for districts special education needs
- Collaborate with district leaders on special education practices, inclusive teaching strategies, and compliance requirements
- Create innovative solutions to address identified gaps and barriers
- Demonstrate flexibility in responding to everyday district and staff requests
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services
Requirements:
- A valid Nebraska Standard or Professional Administrative and Supervisory Certification with and endorsement in one or more special education areas
- Master’s Degree or higher in Education
- Experience in teaching special education or related service provider profession
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school and student information, including sensitive matters and administrative decisions
- Respect the dignity and self-worth of all students and co-workers
- Serve as a positive role model for appropriate personal interactions and communication
