ESU #2 is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Deaf Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, individualized instruction to students with hearing impairments. You will play a key role in helping students develop academic, social, and communication skills, and will collaborate with other educators, parents, and staff to create a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet students’ specific goals.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including sign language, speech reading, visual aids, and technology, to enhance learning.
- Provide a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members, including speech therapists, counselors, and administrators, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Assess and track students’ progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and behavior.
- Foster students’ self-confidence, social skills, and emotional well-being.
Start Date: On or About August 1, 2025
